The story

Putting the pieces together so life can be a lot easier.

The question

If technology is supposed to make life easier, why does running a business feel like managing the technology?

The work

It showed up in real estate.

Sit with a client. Price a house. Carry a contract through to close.

The tools

  • A leadOne system.
  • The transactionAnother.
  • MarketingA platform of its own.
  • The conversationAlready in email and text.

Those tools were bought to save time. They had become the job.

What we built

We did not want another login.

Marker 17 puts those pieces together. The records a business already relies on, in one place. The right fact comes up. The rest waits.

The levels

We thought it was a real estate problem. People in other work told the same story.

  • The operation
  • The business
  • The team
  • The person

The use case is real estate. The same structure fits other work.

The name

The name is from home. Highway 17 runs through Charleston and the Lowcountry.

You cannot really name a business after a highway. Marker was the next solution.

A marker tells you where you are, how far you have come, and what is next.

The habit

Southern hospitality, when it is real, is attention. Notice what someone needs before they ask.

The software should work that way. Quietly. In the background.

The reason

Integrations, dashboards, and data matter. They are not the reason.

The reason is time. Enough quiet in the systems that some minutes come back.

  • Sit with a client
  • Build the next idea
  • Lead a team
  • Serve a community
  • Have dinner
  • Leave the computer
  • Be present

The best technology gives people something back.

If this is the problem in your business, inquire. The solutions are here.
